The Mozambican National Curriculum is a comprehensive framework that guides the education system in Mozambique, a country in Southeastern Africa. It plays a pivotal role in shaping the educational experiences of Mozambican students from primary to tertiary levels. The curriculum is designed to provide a well-rounded education that not only imparts essential academic knowledge but also fosters critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and social development. It places a strong emphasis on subjects like mathematics, science, language arts, and social studies, while also incorporating elements of Mozambican culture, history, and local languages to promote cultural identity and cohesion.

One notable feature of the Mozambican National Curriculum is its adaptability to the country's diverse regions and communities. Given the geographical and cultural diversity within Mozambique, the curriculum strives to be inclusive and flexible, allowing for localized variations while adhering to national standards. Furthermore, it aligns with broader educational goals, such as improving literacy rates, increasing access to quality education, and preparing students for the challenges of the modern world. Overall, the Mozambican National Curriculum serves as a foundational framework for education in Mozambique, aiming to empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary for personal growth and national development.

The national curriculum at primary level is divided in cycles of learning shown below:

1st Cycle – This includes grade 1 and 2.At the end of grade 2 the student must write the final exam in the following subjects: Portuguese and Mathematics.
2nd Cycle – We have grade 3-5. This means that the student approving grade 2 can pass this to this learning cycle. At the end of grade 5 students should write the final exam that make up the contents of the 3 classes.
3rd Cycle –This last cycle of learning from primary class involves grade 6 and 7 respectively. At the end of grade 7 the student must write the final exams that make up the contents of the two previous grades. If the student passes he will get a legal criterion and tools to enter and attend secondary education, which goes from grade 8- 12.
